“A truck driver and turkey got acquainted instantly on Wednesday in Eagan.
The Eagan Police Department posted on Facebook that a turkey flew through a truck driver’s windshield on Interstate 35E.
Both the driver and turkey were reported to be OK.
Police say after the turkey was removed, the bird walked into a wooden area “like nothing happened.””

Judging by the size of the turkey and the completely shattered windshield, it must have been a frightening ordreal for both the driver and the bird. How neither was injured is pretty miraculous. While collisions with animals on the road is not uncommon, it typically involves deer or other large animals. However, other commenters on this story have also mentioned such incidents with turkeys in the Eagan area.
