As winter and cold weather sets in, it’s vital that you scrape your windshield

“‘As winter approaches, law enforcement agencies are reminding drivers to scrape their windshields before heading out on the roads to avoid causing a crash.

Police in Menomonie, Wisconsin said a driver drove into oncoming traffic Tuesday morning and went off the road because they could not see through the frost on their windshield.

No one was hurt in the crash, but police said it easily could have been much worse.'”

Morning commuters are well aware of the frustrations that come with frost and ice build-up on windshields. It’s not uncommon to see tiny pockets of clear spots on windshields from other drivers as they rush to get to work. However, driving without even scraping at all? That’s a recipe for disaster.

The easiest thing you can do to clear your windshield is start and warm your car up while you get ready for work. It should only take several minutes before the ice starts to clear and it only takes a minute or two to walk out there and turn the ignition. If you have a remote starter, even better!

While we won’t scrape your windshield for you, we do offer exceptional service for repairs and replacements of windshields. Call us at 952-797-4374 or visit our auto glass page to learn more.
