“An Oklahoma Highway Patrol Officer had his feathers ruffled after a scary accident last week when a vulture smashed into his patrol car windshield while he was driving on a highway.
Officer Tony Harper was responding to a crash near Cushing when he heard what sounded like a “gunshot” go off off inside his car when the big bird hit the windshield causing an explosion of “glass and feathers,” Oklahoma Highway Patrol said in a statement.”

Fortunately, the point of impact happened on the passenger side of the windshield and the officer was unharmed. Images show the interior of the car littered with feathers in what was certainly a frightening situation for both the bird and the officer. According to his testimony, the force of the impact made it sound like a gun shot!
